An adaptation of the anime series by Ufotable was announced in Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine on June 4, 2018. The series aired from April 6 to September 28, 2019 on Tokyo MX, GTV, GYT, BS11 and others. Director Haruo Sotozaki is directing the anime with scripts from Ufotable staff. Yuuki Kajiura and Go Shiina are anime composers, and Akira Matsushima is a character designer. Hikaru Kondo is a producer. The opening song of the series - "Gurenge" - was sung by the singer LiSA, the closing song "from the edge" was performed by the group FictionJunction and the singer LiSA. The final composition for Episode 19, "Kamado Tanjirō no Uta" (竈 門 炭 治郎 の う,), is sung by Go Shiina and featuring Nami Nakagawa. With 26 episodes released, Aniplex of America announced that they have licensed the episode and are streaming it on Crunchyroll, Hulu and FunimationNow. AnimeLab licensed the series in Australia and New Zealand. Prior to airing, the first five episodes were shown theatrically in Japan for two weeks from March 29, 2019 under the title Kimetsu no Yaiba: Kyōdai no Kizuna (鬼 滅 の 刃 : 兄弟 の 絆) [29]. Aniplex of America screened the film at the Aratani Theater in Los Angeles on March 31. Madman Anime Group premiered the film in select theaters in Australia on April 2. In July 2019, it was announced that the English take would premiere on the Toonami block for Adult Swim. Premiered on October 13, 2019 at 1:30 am On September 28, 2019, just after Episode 26 aired, an anime film titled Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train (鬼 滅 の 限 : 限 列車 編 Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Ressha-Hen ) with the same personnel [33]. The film will be a direct sequel to the first season, based on the story arc of the manga series Infinite Train, and is set to take place in 2020.
